INTRODUCTION:

We, at Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune are Proud to organize 'Technified Solutions' as a part of Nirmitee 2019. It is a one of its kind event which inculcates among the participants an analytical approach towards solving complex technical problems likely to be faced in practice.

This event is a platform to test your imaginative skills, ideas & solutions to solve the problems that already exist in our society and make them smarter and efficient.

Often structures are subjected to non-deterministic loads (e.g. Seismic/wind loads). Design codes take care of uncertainty in load and structural properties through FOS (factor of safety), more robust approach is needed to understand response of structure to probabilistic loads. This workshop gives glimpse of probabilistic analysis and response to uncertain loads.

 

 

EVENT FORMAT

The Event will be conducted in 2 stages:

STAGE 1 (Day 1)

  1. Workshop will be held on “STRUCTURAL RESPONSE TO RANDOM  LOADS”

  2. Problem statement will be given based on structural response to random loads.

(Resources to be provided are, college library and network).Based on problem statement participant need to represent Power Point representation.

 

STAGE 2 (Day 2)

  1. Participants will have to present a PowerPoint  presentation.

  2. Analytical problem solving. (Based on workshop)

                         

WINNERS: Based on the scores obtained in solving problem statement and presentation skills.

Education: Ph.D. (Structural Dynamics)

Work Experience: industry 2.5 years, research 7 years, teaching 4 years.

                        

RULES:

  1. Under Graduates (FE to BE), Post Graduate and Diploma students of any stream are eligible.

  2. A team of maximum 3 students is allowed.

  3. Maximum time allowed for presentation is 10 minutes

  4. No reference materials are allowed during the event.

  5. Participants will be provided notepad & pen and they must bring their own calculators.

  6. The decisions of judges will be binding and final.
